Team Moore’s Victor Garcia claimed his first Sunoco Pole Award after the Firestone Indy Lights qualifying session at Barber Motorsports Park by touring the 2.38-mile, 17-turn natural-terrain course, in 1:17.279 seconds.

Esteban Guerrieri, who for a long time looked like he would be the pole winner for the second consecutive race with a best lap of 1:17.308, will start second.

Stefan Wilson (Andretti Autosport) was third in front of Conor Daly in the No. 77 Mazda Road to Indy/Sam Schmidt Motorsports car.

Canadians Mikael Grenier and David Ostella will start respectively from 10th and 11th on the grid.
