No less than 34 entrants will take part in this week-end grand finale in Las Vegas, which is the most entrants for a non-Indianapolis 500 in IZOD IndyCar Series history.

The previous mark was 31 cars in 1997 also for a race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

There is still a lot of unfinished business to settle starting with the championship duel between Dario Franchitti and Will Power, who trails by 18 points. Then, there is the Sunoco Rookie of the Year chase that features James Hinchcliffe holding a six-point advantage over Indy 500 runner-up JR Hildebrand.

Last but not least, will be the storyline of reigning 500 Mile Race champion Dan Wheldon shooting for a $5 million prize.

For the sixth consecutive season, the IZOD IndyCar Series championship will be decided in the final event.

Among all the entrants, we may mention Paul Tracy back in the No. 8 Dragon Racing car. Alos on hand will be Jay Howard and Pippa Mann competing for Rahal Letterman Lanigan.

Davey Hamilton and Townsend Bell will drive alongside for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing cars while former Indy 500 winner Buddy Rice will make his second start of the season.

We had already stated that Tomas Scheckter will be driving a second entry for Sarah Fisher Racing.

Alex Tagliani will be back in action driving the No. 98 William Rast/Bowers & Wilkins car for the combo of Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Agajanian/Sam Schmidt Motorsports.
