Although the circuit lay-out for the fourth round of the IZOD IndyCar Series presented in São Paulo has not been changed, organisers have been busy repaving part of the street circuit.

Last year, the inaugural edition of the Brazilian event was hampered by limited traction on the long concrete front straight and the massive amounts of dust that hung in the air and limited the visibility.

There were also bumps that sent cars flying on acceleration and under braking but it seem that all of those issues have been rectified and should not cause as much problem this year.

There was a total re-pave from turns 1 to 11 and everything but the concrete section has new asphalt so everything should be smoother, although, it has to be seen what the impact of the heavy traffic was over the new street surfaces.

IndyCar drivers will be pleased to learn that a new support series has been added to the schedule that will take to the track before the open-wheel cars have their first practice session on Saturday which undoubtedly should help clean up the circuit and add traction to it.
