Target Chip Ganassi Racing driver Dario Franchitti captured pole position Saturday for the MoveThatBlock.com Indy 225 to be run tomorrow at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Franchitti, who's been quick on the one-mile oval since Thursday set the fastest two-lap qualifying average at a speed of 170.843 mph.

Oriol Servia of the Newman-Haas team secured second place with an average of 169.831 mph.

Servia will be followed on the grid by Tony Kanaan (KV Technology), Canadian rookie James Hinchcliffe (Newman-Haas), Ryan Hunter-Reay (Andretti Autosport) and Ryan Briscoe (Penske Racing).

“The entire team did a great job. This car had tons of downforce,” said Franchitti.

“This place is a challenge, I can tell you. It will be nice to be up in front in the clean air tomorrow for the race. We've got to make sure that we make the good calls because this track changes a lot, and quickly. That will be a real challenge tomorrow,” said Franchitti.
