According to reports, Tiago Monteiro is in talks to join the IndyCar grid for this year's season-finale at Las Vegas and to have a shot at the $5 million bonus.
The former Formula 1 and ChampCar racer could become a “guest” driver and, therefore, be eligible for the special purse offered by the IndyCar Series.
Monteiro stated that some people he knew way back when he was racing in the United States have approached him to see if he would be interested in making a comeback in North American open wheel racing.
