It has been decided by Lotus that its teams running in IndyCar and both the GP2 and GP3 series will switch to good ol’ black and gold livery for the upcoming season.
The livery, that will use both colors that were made famous when the Lotus F1 squad was closely associated with sponsor John Player Special, will become the trademark for all the Group Lotus backed teams outside of F1.
Lotus currently backs ART in GP2 and GP3, while in IndyCar it will switch from being a sponsor of KV Racing Technology, which has now switched to Chevrolet engines, to being a factory engine supplier to Bryan Herta Autosport, Dreyer & Reinbold and HVM.
The only exception to the black and gold rebranding will be HVM, which will retain a green-based livery at the request of its major sponsor, Nuclear.
