Following an impressive test with Panther Racing last week in Phoenix, young American J.R. Hildebrand will be confirmed as the official driver for the team in 2011 while Chip Ganassi has called a Thursday press conference to confirm Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball on a new team.
Hildebrand, who captured the US F2000 title in 2006 and the Indy Lights championship in 2009, will replace Dan Wheldon who had a relatively low-key season in 2010, finishing 9th in the final standings.
With the expected announcements of the arrival of Graham Rahal and Charlie Kimball as team-mates within a satellite team owned by Chip Ganassi, those two, along with Hildebrand, will join three others Americans already present in IndyCar; Ryan Hunter-Reay, Danica Patrick and Marco Andretti.
