According to KV Racing co-owner Jimmy Vasser, the squad will be back again with three cars for the upcoming 2012 season when it returns this time with Chevrolet, having parted ways with long-time backer Lotus.

One thing for sure, Tony Kanaan, who ended up fifth in the standings last year with the Vasser-Kalkhoven team, is back in form and is currently conducting all the tests on the new DW12 for the team.

Vasser is also sure that EJ Viso will be back with KV racing; both parties being in the final stages of signing a new contract.

Takuma Sato, who tested with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing last week in a DW12 motorized by Honda will be driving for Bobby Rahal, leaving the KV Racing with one vacant spot on its hands.

“We have some exciting opportunities for the third car,” said Vasser. “Most likely, it’s going to be a rookie, either from Indy Lights or from Europe. Three cars is our business model. Come hell or high water, we’ll have three cars next year.”
