KV Racing Technology revealed without great surprise that the team will be powered by the new Chevrolet IndyCar V-6 racing engine for the 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season.

KV Racing Technology, who joined the IndyCar Series in 2008, has reached an agreement to compete with Chevrolet power during the 2012 season said KVRT co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven.

Co-owner and former CART/Indy champion Jimmy Vasser has a long history with Chevy as he owns himself a Chevrolet dealership in California and competed with a Chevy engine for the first two years of his career.

KV Racing is the latest team to have chosen Chevrolet as their engine supplier after Penske, Andretti Autosports and Panther Racing.

Meanwhile, it appears that Ryan Briscoe's future at Team Penske has been secured as the Australian will return to the team for his fifth season.

Speculations arise about his presence with Penske’s squad after he had a couple of ordinary seasons but still his option was picked up today.

Helio Castroneves, like Briscoe, was also locked out of the win column in 2011--the first time in the Brazilian's 10-year stint with The Captain.

Castroneves will continue with veteran engineer Ron Ruzewski overseeing his car, but engineering changes are expected for Briscoe.
