For its last visit to Japan, the IZOD IndyCar Series will use the 2.98-mile, 14-turn natural-terrain road course at the Twin Ring Motegi motorsports facility on September 18.

The race has been held on the 1.5-mile oval circuit for the last nine years, but it sustained damage during the 9.0 magnitude Tohoku earthquake in March; preventing the cars from competing on the oval.

The road course is being repaved this week. A race distance/number of laps will be determined shortly.

A MotoGP race scheduled for April was postponed to October because of the impact of the earthquake.

The race follows the road course event at Infineon Raceway (Aug. 28) and the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix on a temporary street circuit (Sept. 4).
