As Auto123.com reported a few weeks ago, Canadian Paul Tracy has confirmed Friday that he is trying to put a deal together with Conquest Racing to contest the 2011 IZOD IndyCar season.

The driver from Toronto has not had a full-time seat since the Champ Car and IRL series merged three years ago. It seems that Conquest represents his only chance to come back on the grid.

Tracy has only been able to run partial schedules in recent years and in 2010, he only managed six appearances with KV and Dreyer & Reinbold and he wasn’t able to qualify for the Indy 500.

Tracy said Conquest Racing’s boss Eric Bachelart was doing his best to put a package together for him.

Other drivers in contention for Conquest's two-car team include 2010 driver Bertrand Baguette, Indy Lights champion JK Vernay and Sebastian Saavedra, who contested the 2010 finale for Bachelart. Once again, money is the key factor.
