According to sources, former Formula One and NASCAR driver Scott Speed will take part in the upcoming Indianapolis 500 in May with Dragon Racing.
The Californian has reportedly signed a deal with Jay Penske’s outfit to enter the IZOD IndyCar Series and will participate in the Rookie Orientation Program at Indy next Thursday along with the seven other rookies.
The 28-year-old American drove in F1 for the Toro Rosso team before shifting his attention to the world of oval racing, competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Trucks and Sprint Cup Series through the end of the 2010 season.
Dragon Racing announced earlier this week it will run a second car at Indianapolis in conjunction with Sam Schmidt Motorsports for Dutch/Chinese driver Ho-Pin Tung.
