Dale Coyne Racing has officially announced that former Champ Car champion Sebastian Bourdais and newcomer James Jakes will drive the team’s Dallara Honda #18 and #19 starting this week-end in St. Petersburg.

Sébastien Bourdais back in IndyCar.

Due to his commitment to Peugeot in the Le Mans Cup, Sebastien Bourdais will only run a partial schedule with Dale Coyne consisting of 9 races on road courses.

As for James Jakes, he has signed on to drive for the entire 2011 IndyCar season. The Englishman comes from GP2 series and took part in his first ever outing in an IndyCar at Barber Motorsports Park on March 14th and 15th.

James Jakes will discover the IndyCar.

For Sebastien Bourdais, it will be a return to the North American open wheel scene since winning his fourth Champ Car title in 2007, after which he had an ill-fated Formula 1 stint with Toro Rosso.

Sebastien Bourdais has subsequently raced in Superleague Formula as well as his duties with Peugeot.
