While Rubens Barrichello was the talk of the town in Sebring on Monday and Tuesday, there was plenty of action on the track with all the other IndyCar teams trying to get extra mileage with their new cars and engine.

For Lotus, things did not start on a positive note on Monday as a shipping mistake led the U.S. Customs to hold on longer to the Lotus-Judd V-6 turbo engine that had been ship back stateside from the manufacturing plant in the UK; forcing Oriol Servia to postpone his first laps in the DW12.

Team Penske was present with all three of its drivers while Panther Racing’s JR Hildebrand was also conducting the squad’s program.

Like Monday, Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay led all drivers, posting a low 52-second lap in his Chevrolet-powered Dallara DW12; prompting the American to note that 2.2-liter twin-turbo V-6 is becoming quite refined in a short amount of time.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Justin Wilson also sampled his Honda-powered DW12 for the first time on Tuesday.

What we do now know about Rubens Barrichello’s outing in Sebring is that the test was created specifically for him.

We also learned that if the former Formula 1 driver decided to switch to IndyCar racing, a full budget is already in place for him to contest the 2012 IndyCar series.
