The IZOD IndyCar Series has decided to go ahead with its plans to reduce the amount of testing that will be allowed for the 2013 season.

As we had already reported, since most of the extensive testing on the Dallara DW12 has already been done, private testing will be reduced from six days to two while engine manufacturers will have a total of two complete days each before the beginning of the season.

Outside private and manufacturer tests, team will be allowed to run at five open tests organised by the series - one pre-season and four once the championship is underway. New entrants or teams running rookies get two additional test days.
