Alex Tagliani of the FAAZT Racing team will be racing for a fifth time in Edmonton, having raced there during his Champ Car days and he hopes that he’ll be able to stop Will Power’s domination on road circuit.

Championship leader Power of the Penske squad has won so far this year no less than four races, all of those on road circuits, and he is back right where he earned, in 2009, his first ever race in his IZOD IndyCar’s career.

As for Tagliani, he had finished 13th last year but still, he has high hopes since he knows very well the surroundings since he won the NASCAR Canadian Tires Series’ race in 2008.

“The Edmonton circuit is different from the one in Toronto,” says Tagliani.

“It is very demanding for the drivers, especially at the end of a long run between pit stops. It is also hard to overtake and when you can it can be pretty tricky.”

Only one driver from the ChampCar era, Justin Wilson, has won the Edmonton race back in 2006 and will surely try to get back at the top of the podium, which he almost did a week ago in Toronto.
