Conquest Racing's primary sponsor, financial services firm Opes Prime, has filed for bankruptcy in Australia after the solvency of the brokerage firm had been put under pressure due to a number of major clients not meeting significant margin calls.
Last December, Conquest Racing boss Eric Bachelhart proclaimed that its future had been solidified through a new two-year sponsorship/marketing deal with Opes Prime.
It's uncertain how the bankruptcy will affect Conquest's ability to continue to field two cars in 2008
