Texas Motor Speedway boss Eddie Gossage has offered NASCAR star Dale Earnhart Jr $100,000 to race an Indy car at the June 7 race at the TMS.
"We would love to facilitate having Dale Jr. in an Indy car for the Bombardier Learjet 550. After all, next to the Indy 500, it's the biggest IndyCar race of the year. Junior would make it even bigger," said Gossage.
The son of legendary driver Dale Earnhart has no experience in an open-wheel car and it would be doubtful if Hendrick Motorsports would allow him to make his open-wheel debut on the high speed, highly banked oval at Texas.
