Ganassi Racing earned its first victory of the IndyCar 2010 season with Scott Dixon finishing on top followed by teammate Dario Franchitti in Kansas.

Dixon was closing in on polesitter Ryan Briscoe (Penske) right from the start but went wide on lap 14 and lost some positions. He came charging back, passing Franchitti and taking the lead shortly before the first stop.

Franchitti jumped Briscoe for second at the first stops then ran close behind Dixon for most of the rest of the race.

At the final restart, Dixon had a cushion of lapped cars behind him so he had no difficulty pulling away again, while Castroneves (Penske), who was second at the time, was muscled back to fourth by Franchitti and Andretti Autosport's Tony Kanaan in the final four laps.

Underdog qualifying star Alex Tagliani (Fazzt) came away with a top ten finish. The Canadian had tumbled down the order in the first stint then later fought through to eighth.
