Young Marco Andretti was the quickest driver of the day as he ended up with the best time after everyone completed first day of practice for the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio.
But he had to wait at the last moment to beat teammate Tony Kanaan who had the best time up to the second practice last moments.
The Brazilian had finished on top in the morning session beating compatriot Helio Castroneves (Penske) by just 0.043 seconds. The Penske driver once again finished second in the afternoon.
As he had predicted, returnee EJ Viso and HVM Racing took sixth in second practice, although the best of the former Champ Car contenders on combined times was Newman/Haas/Lanigan's Justin Wilson, who was fourth in the morning.
