Several IndyCar star drivers will take part in the next 11th Petit Le Mans race of the American Le Mans Series that will be held October the 4th at the fame Road America circuit.
Penske Racing has entered a third RS Spyder for IndyCar Series championship runner-up Helio Castroneves and teammate Ryan Briscoe. This will be Castroneves second start in the LMP2 class, having driven before during the Twelve Hours of Sebring in 2007. Briscoe competed in a Penske RS Spyder as a Porsche factory driver in '07.
IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon will also be on hand and co-drive the de Ferran Motorsports car with Simon Pagenaud and, of course, Gil de Ferran himself.
Dario Franchitti, the 2007 IndyCar Series champion who two weeks ago was named to drive the No. 10 Target Chip Ganassi Racing car, has indicated he has a deal in the works to compete.
Last week, Andretti Green Racing announced that Tony Kanaan and Marco Andretti would co-drive its No. 26 Acura with Franck Montagny in the 1,000 mile/10-hour race.
