Team Penske’s Ryan Briscoe barely edged Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti (Ganassi) but still earned his second pole position of the year at the Texas Motor Speedway.

Even though the Australian finished on top, he had to content with strong showings from Dario Franchitti and current standing leader Will Power (Penske).

Franchitti’s teammate Scott Dixon and Helio Castroneves (Penske) finished respectively fourth and fifth.

Things did not go as well for Alex Tagliani (FAZZT Racing) who could not find the speed necessary to be at the front and finished a distant 20th.
