Pictures of the production version of the hotly awaited Lancer Evolution X have finally been officially released by Mitsubishi. Until now, the EVO X prototype was the only hint as to what the production model could look like.
Thankfully, the pictures clearly show that the real-deal has not lost any of its aggressive forward-thinking styling. We will come right out and say it: It looks great and mean!
The new Lancer Evolution will feature Mitsubishi's S-AWC traction and handling system, a new lightweight, high-performance 2.0-liter turbocharged MIVEC3 engine and a 6-speed automated manual transmission.
The EVO is synonymous with the WRC where it really came into its own in the 1990s. The new car, with its more rigid Lancer platform, combines the lessons learned from the years of competition with the latest technology to create the ultimate enthusiasts' car for the street.
The all-new Lancer Evolution will be on sale in Canada during the first quarter of 2008.
