McHugh was awarded a Maisto Special Edition model of the all-new Jaguar X-TYPE and a monetary gift to an institution of his choice.
First runner-up in the Journalist of the Year competition, Dan Proudfoot, a writer for the Toronto Sun, was cited by the judges to cherish clarity and put his readers' interests ahead of his own. Second runner-up was awarded to Jeremy Cato, past winner of the award, who writes for the Globe & Mail and a number of other syndicates across Canada. He is described by the judging panel as a consummate professional, full of fascinating information that is easy to read.
"From a manufacturer's standpoint, this is a difficult competition, as there are many deserving journalists," said Russell Reynolds, president of Jaguar Canada. "We see their dedication everyday with articles that give the reader the necessary details to make educated purchases."
