Toyota unveiled its Super GT300-spec Prius.
The japanese Super GT championship is often compared to Germany's DTM, and the States' Grand-Am. All three series are production-based competitions, relished by manufacturers.
AutoHebdo.fr announced today that Toyota introduced the world to its first hybrid Super GT contender, the GT300 Prius.
The car was not developped by Toyota Motorsports GmbH, home of the Endurance team, but rather by Toyota’s Hybrid department and APR.
It has yet to turn a wheel in real anger, but most parts have been tested of the Prius' predecessor, the Corolloa GT300.
Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Corvette are all said to have interests in joining the Super GT championship, which also includes a GT500 category, for bigger motors.
