BMW is developing a 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine
Jim O'Donnell, BMW's president and CEO for North America, has confirmed that the German manufacturer is working on a new 4-cylinder, turbo engine. According to O'Donnell, the gas engine will be more powerful than BMW's current V6s; compared to them, the 4-cylinder mill will be cleaner and more fuel-efficient.
