Heikki Kovalainen set today the fastest lap around the circuit Catalunya in Barcelone, Spain during the third and final day of private testing.
Driving the Renault, Kovalainen set a time that was 4/10ths of a second faster than Felipe Massa (Ferrari), Frank Montagny (Toyota) and Sebastian Vettel (Toro Rosso).
This was the last time that Frenchman Montagny was driving the F1 Toyota.
Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Luca Badoer evaluated mainly electronic components and new car parts. Four-time Champ Car series' champion, Sébastien Bourdais spent all three days getting to grip with the Toro Rosso car, and modifying the set-up of the car to suit his driving style.
The next test session will be held in Jerez, Spain from December 4 to 7.
