They're said to be the fastest growing automaker in the world, and a new concept vehicle hints at a possible future model that will further their reach.

The Kue, set to be launched at the Detroit auto show in January, hints towards a possible future styling language for the Korean manufacturer of value-based automobiles. It's a crossover, though the look of the initial sketch may leave some guessing.

Penned by Kia's design studio in California, the Kue displays flat beltline which sits just below a very low, sleek roofline with narrow windows. A sweeping, raked look to the side profile gives an impression of velocity even at rest, and

the sculpted door on each side is flanked by bulging fenders which accommodate monstrous 22 inch chrome wheels. In back are dual, vertically mounted exhaust outlets underneath a discreet set of slit-like taillamps.

The overall look is more fantasy than production, and the concept will be in the same size class as Mazda's upcoming CX9 crossover. Kia says "[the Kue] focuses more on giving the driver an exhilarating driving experience on the way to the home-improvement center than on how much it can haul."

Though there are no confirmed plans to put the Kue into production, the Sorrento SUV is set to receive a new platform and makeover as a 2009 model.
