"(The cars) are completely different, but the driving skills that you learn – the controlled braking into corners, the part-throttle, on-throttle, shifting – made it easier to pick it up quicker than perhaps others would," Hamilton said. "That's why Tony went out there and straightaway picked it up, no problem."

“Whilst driving a Formula One car is very fun, the competitive side of it is so serious. … I was also feeling the tough weekend this morning, but as the excitement built up, and when I got in the car, and once I got out, I completely forgot about last weekend,” Hamilton said after doing a burnout.

In the end the weather cleared, but, not enough to really get some hot laps, but, Stewart was satisfied that the swap gave each driver a feeling for what the cars could do.

“It was a little sketchy I thought in the car in the rain. Obviously, if we had a chance to go and work on the car more, we would make it better. Definitely was glad to see that it dried off for Lewis so he got a better idea of what the car was really like,” Stewart said.
