2:15 PM - Lexus showed off a couple of new models and made some important announcements today.
The RX400h hybrid SUV was on display, which is going on sale this year.
Lexus introduced the LF-A, an exotic coupe prototype that could rival Ferrari and Porsche. Lexus didn't give many details, but they mentioned the LF-A's engine will develop over 500 horsepower from under 5 litres of displacement, which will be good for a 320-km/h (200 mph) top speed. The LF-A sports 19-inch wheels and is shorter than a Porsche 911 (4,400 mm vs. 4,461 mm), but with a longer wheelbase (2,580 vs. 2,350).
Lexus also displayed the upcoming GS, which will become the brand's fastest model when it goes on sale as a 2006. They also announced that a GS450 Hybrid would also be produced.
Also announced, a new IS will be introduced at the New York auto show at the end of March.
