Lexus ES300 2002

The new 8-way power adjustable front bucket driver seat with enhanced lumbar support is an all-new design that is more comfortable and more supportive, with enhanced structural integrity for added safety. The front passenger seat has the same enhanced structural integrity and comfort, with 6-way power adjustments. All seating positions feature three-point seatbelt anchors and the front seats have adjustable shoulder anchors, and pretensioners with force limiters. This redesigned cabin is also quieter than the previous ES 300, thanks to new technology that absorbs noise rather than blocking it. As in the previous model, an active engine mount helps cancel out idle vibration with every power stroke. New engine mounts further reduce vibration, and a two-stage muffler reduces exhaust "booming" at low speeds.

The ES 300 includes both in-dash CD and cassette players. Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) adjusts volume up or down in response to ambient noise. In addition, an in-dash 6-CD changer is available with the Premium and Luxury Packages on ES 300, while a premium Mark Levinson audio system with 7 channels and 240 watts, is offered with the Luxury Package on ES 300.

Additional standard luxury features include a multi-information display with trip computer, Homelink garage door opener, and electrochromic auto-dimming rearview and sideview mirrors. A compass is integrated into the rearview mirror. Power windows on all four doors feature one-touch up/down control with pinch protection. Two more features adopted from the LS 430 include water-repellent front door glass and four-door courtesy lamps that illuminate the ground and doorsill areas.
