Audi has announced the world debut of the 2015 R8 competition -- its fastest and most powerful model to date -- at the upcoming 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Only 60 units will be sold in the U.S.
The Audi R8 competition houses a 570-horsepower, 5.2L V10 engine mated to a 7-speed, dual-clutch S tronic transmission and a sport exhaust system with gloss black tailpipes. It sprints from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).
This engine is the same naturally aspirated unit that helped the Audi R8 LMS race car win Daytona and Nürburgring 24-hour races as well as other major GT races around the globe.
