The refreshed 2016 Mazda6 made its world debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show this week before heading to dealers a few months from now. It offers outstanding fuel economy (as little as 5.9L/100km on the highway with the automatic transmission and i-ELOOP system), a quieter cabin, and standard heated rear seats -- a first in the Canadian midsize segment.
Once again, the Mazda6 comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder SKYACTIV-G engine; it can be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The top-level GT trim stands out with 19'' wheels, a bolder front face, LED taillights, as well as an Active Driving Display which provides vehicle speed and other important driving information in real time.
All 2016 Mazda6 models feature a 7'' centre display, dual USB ports, MazdaConnect infotainment, an electronic parking brake (a first for Mazda), and a new compact shark-fin antenna. The 6 continues to offer a selection of black or white leather, or black fabric interior materials. However, the leather interior adopts new colour coordination.
Pricing for the 2016 Mazda6 will be announced at a later date
