Upscale design, rewarding performance, and innovative engineering

The new Mazda CX-9 recently won the 2017 Auto123.com Midsize SUV / Minivan of the Year award, and it’s easy to figure out why when you get a chance to hop on board and take it for a spin.

We did so on a couple of occasions earlier this year, so check out our Mazda CX-9 reviews.

More awards keep coming its way, mind you. While it lost AJAC’s “Best New Large Utility” award by a single point (the Chrysler Pacifica won the title), the new Mazda CX-9 ranks on Car and Driver magazine’s first-annual 10Best Trucks and SUVs list.

The editors pointed to its upscale design, rewarding and surefooted driving performance, and innovative engineering.

Additionally, at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month, the Mazda CX-9 was announced as one of the top three finalists for the North American Utility Vehicle of the Year award (along with the Pacifica and Jaguar F-PACE). The winner will be crowned on January 9th, 2017 at the NAIAS in Detroit.
