Daimler will use the 2016 New York Auto Show to celebrate the world premiere of the new 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 43. This high-performance German sedan is expected to arrive at dealerships across Canada and the U.S. early next year. Pricing remains to be determined.
Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with manual mode. Producing 396 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque, it can sprint from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited at 250 km/h.
Like all AMG cars, the new E 43 looks sporty and muscular, although not as much as the almighty E 63. You’ll notice three large front bumper intakes, 5-spoke black 19” wheels, a quad exhaust system, a rear diffuser, and more. Inside, Mo-Tex/DINAMICA sport seats, exclusive pedals, a multifunction sport steering wheel with contrasting stitching, and AMG instruments highlight the cockpit.
