When Mitsubishi unveiled its ''Jump 2013'' mid-term business plan last January, the days of the Eclipse – coupe and Spyder – and Endeavor SUV were numbered. However, instead of 2013, as originally planned, these models will meet their demise next August, the Japanese automaker said today.

All are currently manufactured at the Normal, IL plant alongside the Galant. The facility is being retooled to produce 50,000 Mitsubishi RVRs (aka Outlander Sport in the United States) annually.

The midsize sedan remains on life support. A decision on when to end production will be made later, but don't expect to see it beyond the 2013 model year.

In February 2011, Mitsubishi sold 24 Endeavors, 32 Eclipses/Spyders and 3 Galants across Canada. Combined, they represent less than 4 percent of the company's total sales. Meanwhile, 344 Lancers, 447 Outlanders and 695 RVRs found takers during the same period.
