With all the glamour of the hottest new models taking centre stage at this years Montreal International Auto Show, it might have been easy to overlook the needs of charitable organizations within the community.
But the show's Charity Preview evening, which was held on January 18th, once again raised money for five worthy causes within Montreal's medical community. The Sacré-Coeur de Montréal Hospital Fondation, the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital Fondation, the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation, the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal and the McGill University Health Centre all benefited from the night's events which raised over $265,000. Each of the above-listed charities are dedicated to improving the state of health care in the Greater Montreal area.
The evening, sponsored by the Montreal Automobile Dealers Corporation Foundation and the Palais des congrès de Montréal, has raised over $730,000 in total donations since 2005.
Those in attendance had the opportunity to meet and greet the most important names in the auto industry while experiencing privileged access to the vehicles. Jazz musicians were on hand to provide entertainment while a hot and cold buffet was served alongside wine and spirits.
Auto Show President Mr. Jean-François Brault, says "Over the past three years, the money raised has greatly helped support Montreal's medical community. This year, we are very proud to help five foundations that play a key role within Greater Montréal's health care community".
