Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa won his home race after starting second on the grid of the Grand Prix of Spain in Jerez. Right from the start, he took the lead and never had to look back.
Pedrosa completed the race with 2.8 seconds over Fiat Yamaha's Valentino Rossi. Polesitter Jorge Lorenzo took third and Pedrosa's teammate, Nicky hayden was forth. Rossi nearly gave second place away to Lorenzo when he started celebrating on the main straight one lap too early.
Bad week end for championship leader Casey Stoner has he had to settle for tenth spot after going through the gravel on lap three.
