Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo underwent surgery on the day after the last Grand Prix in Portugal, which he won, to relieve the carpal tunnel syndrome he has been suffering from.

The Spaniard expects to be fit for the next MotoGP round that we'll be held next weekend in China.

"Each day I am feeling better after my operation," said Lorenzo. "I feel great and I think the recovery is going very well, without problems. I am going to China in perfect shape."

Lorenzo, who is now leading the championship along with fellow countryman Dani Pedrosa, has had a tremendous season start with three pole positions in three races and a victory in Portugal.
