MotoGP: Silly season almost over

There is going to be some major changes amongst the teams that will take part in the 2009 MotoGP season as only four teams are set to stick with their current line-ups while some exciting rider moves to new teams.

Of course, the new World Champion Valentino Rossi and is outstanding teammate Jorge Lorenzo will be back with Fiat Yamaha, as well as the two riders racing for Tech 3 Yamaha; James Toseland and Colin Edwards.

Rizla Suzuki has also confirmed that both Chris Vermeulen and Loris Capirossi would be back in 2009 on their GSV-R800. The other driver who's also going to stay put is Randy de Puniet with LCR Honda.

Change will come though with former champion Nicky Hayden joining his friend Casey Stoner at Ducati Marlboro and Andrea Dovizioso will be the Dani Pedrosa's new teammate at Repsol Honda.

Marco Melandri, who is having a dismal year at Ducati, will try to bounce back alongside John Hopkins at Kawasaki while Gresini Honda will welcome back Toni Elias to ride with Alex de Angelis on their works RC212V from HRC.

Newcomer Yuki Takahashi will replace departing Davizioso in a restructured Scot Racing Team set-up. Two other rookies who are rumoured to be joining the Alice Team - FinlandĀ“s Mika Kallio and DucatiĀ“s young Italian tester Niccolo Canepa, could join the Japanese.
