In 16 starts at the ultra-fast Texas Motor Speedway, NASCAR Sprint Cup series' leader Jeff Gordon has only managed at best a pair of second-place finishes but he has never won a race at the 1.5 miles track but he is confident his luck could change this weekend.
TMS is one of two Sprint Cup tracks where Gordon hasn't won (Homestead-Miami Speedway is the other) but the Hendrick's driver is motivated to finally put the No. 24 Chevrolet Impala SS into victory lane.
He has reasons to feel better about his prospects this time around because this season there have been three races at 1.5 and 2-mile tracks and in those events, the four-time champion finished sixth at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and second at both Auto Club Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway.
