Andrew Ranger could only managed a 20th place at the finish line after experiencing some engine problems in the latter part of the season finale of the K&N Pro Series West in Phoenix.

Before those problems, the Canadian had a good race, having started from 19th on the grid and managing to make a comeback as far up as a 6th place thanks to a good race strategy.

Unfortunately, things started unfolding when he was penalized after his crewmen went over the pit wall before the car was in the box.

Back in the race, and while he was trying to work his way back up front, his engine began to slowly lose power and even though the team tried to find the problem in latter stops, Ranger was forced to accept the situation.

''It's a shame because the car was fast,'' said Ranger after the race. ''The penalty put us in a bad spot really and then, still without any explanation, the engine started quitting on us.''

For the Roxton Pond, Quebec, driver it was the last race of the season and he will be back in the No.35 Waste Management car in January for the Toyota All-Star Showdown presented in Irwindale, California.

The race was won by Greg Pursley followed by Johnny Borneman and then by NASCAR's great Michael Waltrip in third.
