NASCAR is closing in on its grand season finale. For starters, its major Sprint Cup series will be racing its 25th race of the year, the Pepsi 500, run Sunday evening at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

This weekend's event will be shown live on TSN and RDS (French) Sunday evening.

All eyes will be on Patrick Carpentier (Dodge No 10) whose ride for 2009 is still up in the air! And the Kyle Busch (Camry No 18) and Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) feud is only beginning.

The Chase for the Cup will begin at the 27th of the 36 race season in Loudon, New Hampshire.

As far as the Nationwide series race, the Camping World RV Service 300 presented by Coleman, is concerned, it will be held on Saturday evening still at the Auto Club Speedway but late on Saturday evening.

Canadian D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 81) is listed on the starting line-up but he is also scheduled to run the NASCAR Canadian Tire race (with Dodge No 17) the same evening at Cayuga, Ontario.

The Nationwide race will be televised live on ESPN and TSN starting at 9:45 pm.

As far as Craftsman Truck drivers, they will be at the Gateway International Raceway in Illinois on Saturday afternoon, a race to be shown on SPEED TV.

NASCAR Canadian Tire drivers will compete at the Cayuga Motor Speedway on Saturday evening. With only four races to go (including Cayuga's), Scott Steckley (Dodge No 22) is still leading the series followed by D.J. Kennington (Dodge No 17) and Andrew Ranger (Ford No 27).
