Canadian driver Andrew Ranger, who has won the last three races held at the urban track of Trois-Rivières, made a pole out of a leading habit at the famous Grand Prix, on Saturday afternoon.

Ranger, who had overrun his own track record in the series in practice and qualifying, won the pole with a time of 67.661 seconds with an average speed of 81.406 mph in his No. 27 Dodge. Last year's record was 68.291 seconds.

Championship leader Scott Steckly posted a time of 67.917 seconds, also below the previous record and enough to take the second position on today's starting grid, in Trois-Rivieres.

D.J. Kennington qualified in third in front of local driver Louis-Philippe Dumoulin who earned his best qualifying results in career in the series. His brother Jean-François also got himself in the top-10 with the 10th position.

J.R. Fitzpatrick, which many consider to be Ranger's main rival in the streets of Trois-Rivières, will start from 5th on the grid. Kerry Micks, Don Thomson Jr., Robin Buck and Mark Dilley rounded up the top-10.

The sole female driver of the 33-car field, Isabelle Tremblay, qualified in 24th position for this race. Former hockey player Patrice Brisebois will start from 16th.

The GP3R 100 is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m., this Sunday.
