While many professionals in the media think that Danica Patrick’s move over to a full-time NASCAR ride is a done deal; the diminutive driver says it’s still not decided.
In Daytona Beach for the Nationwide Series race, in an off-IndyCar weekend, Patrick told the gathered media "these things are complicated and they take time. Whether I am coming here or not has yet to be signed, sealed and delivered, and they may not. I am really not sure."
"It comes down to my gut, my desire, where I think I'll be the happiest and where I feel I'll have the most success," she said.
Just about any place she goes the only woman to have won an IndyCar race is asked about her future plans and it’s always the same reply. And she understands people want to know where she will be racing next year. Only she says she’s not signed anything for the future. Patrick said "I feel bad giving you the same answer over and over again."
And, on another topic, whether she’d step up and try the premier, Sprint Cup Series Patrick said "There are no plans for that. It hasn't really been discussed."
Lately there’s been another wrinkle as her main sponsor, GoDaddy.com, a web domain name provider may be sold, according to the Wall Street Journal.
GoDaddy’s principal Bob Parsons, has been her sponsor and Patrick says nothing has changed on the financial front, "unless I hear from Bob that it's been sold, it's all speculation."
