Carl Edwards (Ford No 99) not only lead the best part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Dickies 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon but also won it by a good margin by saving fuel.

Jeff Gordon (Chevy No 24) came in second followed by Jamie McMurray (Ford No 26). As for point leader Jimmie Johnson (Chevy No 48), his team never got the handling right on his car so he ended up in 15th place.

Edwards thus subtracted 77 points of Johnson's lead and is only 106 points away from the leader with only two races to go, Phoenix and Homestead.
