The participation of 1997 Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve to the NASCAR Nationwide event to be held on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal next August - the NAPA Auto Parts 200 - has not been confirmed yet.
Joined yesterday night, Jacques Villeneuve told us that negotiations for having a good car for that event are continuing, but nothing is 100% sure for the moment. Barry Green, who's looking over Villeneuve's career in North America, and Jacques are still talking to various teams.
"Unfortunately, my participation to the Montreal Nationwide race is not confirmed for the moment," Villeneuve told us.
"However, if things move forward, they will move very quickly. I am confident to race there."
The event will be held on Montreal's Gilles Villeneuve circuit on August 1-2. Tickets are on sale on www.circuitgillesvilleneuve.ca or by phone at 514-397-0007.
