Jimmie Johnson’s storied crew chief Knaus was asked his thoughts about this championship. He said “People ask what's it feel like, and I'm be honest with you, and I don't know, so if you ask me I'm going to tell you I don't know.”
“I hope that ten years from now when I'm sitting on my patio retired with my son or daughter or my wife or whatever is going on there, I can sit back and reflect and look at photographs.”
Jimmie Johnson looked bemused and interrupted Knaus “I have three questions. Retired, son and daughter? You have a lot to do in ten years, buddy.”
The interview room roared with laughter. To which Knaus responded “It's all coming, man. It's all coming.”
