At a time when many companies are still contracting KHI is taking a leap by expanding. Not for the Harvicks. “For Kevin and I, KHI has been all about seizing opportunities and making the most of them, so while some might see expanding as risky, we feel confident that we can be successful with the current configuration and structure of the teams.”
For 2011, KHI has added the Brazilian ex-Formula One driver, Nelson Piquet Jr., son of the three-time World Champion Nelson Piquet Sr., and previously announced a partnership with RCR in the Nationwide Series.
"Kevin and I are excited about the partnership between RCR and KHI next year," said Richard Childress, president and CEO of RCR.
"We have talked about having a joint endeavour for several years and, looking at 2011, the timing couldn't be more right. With RCR fielding at least two Truck Series teams next year, the trade-off is for us to help KHI with its Nationwide efforts. It's a positive step for both companies."

When we first started the company in 2001, we hoped we could win a few races, and after winning the second Truck championship in 2009, we realized that we’ve established a solid foundation to continue in the sport long after Kevin quits racing.”
Inevitably one wonders where the team will go.
As DeLana said: “I wouldn’t say starting a Cup team is in the ‘grand plan,’ but should the right opportunity present itself we would certainly take a look. Kevin and I have learned never say never.”
