It’s hard to think of Kyle Busch as a part-time Nationwide driver.

Especially after he held off Carl Edwards for his eighth win of the year, and his third at the short track O’Reilly Raceway Park, not far from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Driving a Joe Gibbs Toyota Busch got the jump on a green-white-checkered finish held off two determined charges by Edwards Roush Fenway Ford.

“I just knew that I had to get going and I had to get a good launch,” Busch said in Victory Lane.

Carl Edwards said “coming down to the green I predicted him to take off late. As he got me on the start I could get under him (but not pass him) he beat us today. I have to say that was a lot of fun I’m glad it ended that way. Congrats to Kyle we couldn’t out race him, but, we could out-smart him.”

Kyle Busch added “it was a good, clean hard-fought battle.  When you treat people with respect, that’s what you get -- you get respect back.  Carl (Edwards) was awesome tonight.  I can’t thank the rest of these competitors.  I had a tough battle there at the beginning with Trevor Bayne.  I had to do what I had to do to get by him sometimes.”

Aric Almirola was third in a JR Motorsports Chevrolet. Bayne, the polesitter finished fourth.

Points leader, Brad Keselowski, who was wrecked by Edwards in the previous race had clutch problems with his Dodge and finished eighth retaining a 200-point lead over Edwards.
